Annika’s Smocked Sun Top and Shorts

This is Annika. She is wearing the adorable sun top and shorts made for her this summer by her great aunt, Patty, who is from the Twin Cities area and is a member of the Lakes & Prairies Chapter of the Smocking Arts Guild of America.

The pattern is Sophie from Maja’s Heirlooms. The pattern and smock plate were featured in Sew Beautiful magazine, issue number 131. The design includes cast-on flowers.

Patty used a floral pique and lime gingham fabric from Fabric Finders Inc.

  1. This is really darling. The bright colors are so contemporary but the smocking makes it classic. This would be a great outfit for a Florida baby…..hmmmm. Once again, you have given me inspiration! Thanks, Connie.
