Sweet Pea Recital Dresses

When Isabelle, age, 5, played her very first piece at a piano recital recently, this is the dress that she wore.  It is “Sweet Pea” from Susan Stewart Designs.  Her grandmother, Lynn, had the pleasure of creating it.

Lynn said “this pattern tends to run long, but it really isn’t a problem as you shorten it at the waist.”  Lynn preferred to use her serger for the construction and said, “it worked so well I wouldn’t use anything else.”

Isabelle’s older sister, Cecilia, also received a special dress for this recital.

Lynn said the fabric is from her stash, some from SR Harris and “who knows where.”

“It’s an easy and fun pattern to do and the girls loved it because it swishes,” says Lynn.

Lynn reports that the girls played their piano pieces very well.
