We finished out the school year with a piano recital on Sunday afternoon. I had the privilege of making Rachel’s dress.
She had envisioned her dress as being “four inches over the toe.” However, we settled on floor length with plans to adjust the length following her “big day”.
I enjoy working with pique. It pleats nicely; however, the pleats are “fatter” than those with batiste or lawn. I would say it is a “fun” fabric to smock. “Fun” is what we had in mind for this dress: cheerful colors with flowers, vines and strawberries in its theme.
