Tiny Gowns

The Lakes & Prairies Smockers began a SAGA (Smocking Arts Guild of America) Stitches lesson on the Wee Care Gown on Saturday, June 19. Cyndy Pond lead us through the fabric preparation and cutting portion.

Cyndy demonstrated how to properly pull a thread and lay out the gown pattern on a lightweight fabric.

We cut our typical “sharing” time short so that everyone could go home with a gown ready for the next step: The French Seams.

At the July meeting, we’ll pleat and begin smocking the gowns.

For more information regarding Wee Care gowns, see the Smocking Arts Guild website.
